Welcome to Casa Antica

The 300-year-old patrician house in the historic village centre of Sornico was acquired by the “Casa Antica Sornico Cooperative” in 1989, extended, and converted into a group accommodation. It accommodates up to 19 people (up to a maximum of 21 beds + 1 sofa bed) and is ideal for self-catering groups: school trips, youth camps, care homes, project and course weeks, as well as family holidays.

The beds are spread across 7 rooms (see floor plans). Each bed is equipped with a mattress protector, a pillow with a pillowcase, and woollen blankets. (see Rates)

On the 1st floor, you will find the kitchen and the washing-up area, the living room (with a soapstone stove), and the dining/work room (with a pizza oven). From here, a few steps lead down to the large terrace (equipped with outdoor tables and benches). There are 5 shower cubicles and 5 toilets throughout the house. The kitchen was completely refitted in spring 2014. The kitchen and washing-up area are fully equipped with the usual appliances, crockery, cutlery, and kitchen linen.

The season runs from April to October. For booking enquiries, please see Booking.

The house does not have its own surrounding private grounds. However, there are areas to play at the nearby school and on the grounds near the river. For relaxation and well-being, there is also a sensory trail (barefoot path) in that area.
